The Lutheran Hispanic Missionary Institute has begun a new course called "Hispanic Mission Basics". This class is being taught in English by Dr. James Tino. For more information, please contact the Institute Director Rev Richard K Schlak.

A major effort is underway to redesign the LHMI website. The goal is to make the website easier to navigate and manage. We hope you like the new look and feel of the information as it emerges. Please be aware that the site will be under construction for at least a month. The English side of the website is finished. Work on translating the Spanish side is still underway. Thanks

Venezuela & Colombia
June 4, 2011
Rev Richard K Schlak, LHMI Executive Director, is teaching classes, visiting with students, and preaching in churches in Venezuela and Columbia from June 4 to July 8, 2011. Classes will be available online in real time in the United States as well. Richard and his wife Maritza will also celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary in Venezuela where they were married.

2/23/11 Prayer: Please pray with me for my brother-in-law, Andrew Sanchez who will be having surgery on February 28, 2011. Heavenly Father, I ask you to wrap your healing arms around Andy surrounding him with your love as he faces treatment for breast cancer. Firmly plant in his heart, Lord, your peace and strength, knowing you are with him always. Grant all who care for his medical needs wisdom to treat his illness effectively and in all gentleness. 2/22/11 Prayer: Amado Padre celestial, tu eres nuestro creador, redentor y santificador. Gracias por todo lo que has hecho, haces y haras. Gracias por proveer de una segura manifestacion de tu amor mediante la vida y obra de Cristo Jesus. Es por El, y solo por El, que estamos seguros de tu amor hacia nosotros por toda la eternidad. Haz tu voluntad en nosotros y usanos en cuerpo y alma para aquello que cumpla tus planes. Beloved heavenly Father, you are our creator, redeemer and sanctifier. Thank you for everything you have done, are doing, and will do. Thank you for providing a sure manifestation of your love through the life and work of Christ Jesus. It is through Him, and only through Him, that we are certain of your love towards us for all eternity. Do your will in us and use us in body and soul for that which will fulfill your plans. Bless your Church; we ask especially for the missions, that through your Word of Law and Gospel many would come to know the great things You have done for us all. Be with those who are happy, touch with your comfort those that suffer, heal the sick and keep the healthy. Fill your people with blessings, through your Son, Jesus Christ, Lord of lords. Amen.
2/19/11 Prayer Request: Please pray for Sue Lozano and the children as they receive frieds and family during the viewing on Sunday, February 20, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Mission Lutheran Church and the funeral for her husband, Rev Mario Lozano, on Monday Morning at 10:00 am at Mission Lutheran Church in Los Curces, NM.
2/18/11 Praise & Request: Praise for a brave warrior Pastor Lozano having fought the good fight and is now with our Victor King Jesus.
Praise for this new website where we can share our burdens and rejoice in His goodness together. Thanksgiving for those who have had the foresight and dedication to put it together.
