The Lutheran Hispanic Missionary Institute is launching a new ministry. Called PALMCON, the Partners in Latino Ministries Conference, the purpose of the gathering is to bring together educators, leaders, and practioners in Hispanic Ministry to learn from each other. A major effort continues to redesign the LHMI website. The goal is to make the website easier to navigate and manage. We hope you like the new look and feel of the information as it emerges. Please be aware that the site will be under construction for a while. The English side of the website is finished. Work on translating the Spanish side is still underway. Thanks

3/14/11 Praise & Prayer: Thank you Lord for your healing and presence for Andrew Sanchez during his surgery last Monday. Please continue to heal him and prepare him for any other treatment required for his breast cancer. I also lift up Lulu, a friend, who will have a procedure to see what the lumps are in both of her breasts. Lord, I ask you to surround her with your peace and help ease her anxiety as she waits to find out exactly what is wrong with her health. In Jesus name I pray. Amen Submitted by Mary Sanchez
3/14/11 Prayer Request: Please lift my mother, Estela Aguilera and my sister Eva Yanin in prayer, as they are once more reunited after 20 years of separation. My sister was taken from my mother's arms when she was 3 yrs of age and by the grace of God we have found my sister alive and doing well. We thank the Lord that his promises and grace has found her as she serves God in Guatemala together with her husband and three children. Please pray for my mother's flight to Guatemala this morning and also for her stay of 3 months. May the Lord bless their union and built a beautiful relationship after a long time separation. 3/12/11 Prayer Request: My Aunt is has been given 3 to 4 weeks to live. She has been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of brain cancer. I pray that she can feel the Lords' presence. I would also like to pray for my mother, whom is having a very difficult time with this. Submitted by Tim Czajkowski

3/10/11 Prayer Request: Please pray for Crosspoint Church in El Paso, TX. Last year Pastor Dan started a Spanish Service and recently he had to close it. A lot of the Spanish community members that were serving are hurting. Please pray for God to reveal his will to Pastor Dan and the Elders. Pray for the Holy Spirit to be with them and the whole congregation. Please pray for unity and discernment, for understanding and team work. 3/10/11 Prayer Request: Please pray for my mom Ruth Kempff, with stage 3 Multiple Myloma Cancer, she is currently in the hospital. Please pray that her blood levels will normalize so she can go home. For successful chemotherapy treatment, for her body to gain strength, and for no pain. I ask for physical strengthen and energy for my dad, cousin and aunt who help take care of my mom. May God continue to watch over all of them, specially my mom as she goes through this ordeal in her life, may God continue to stregthen her faith. For my trip, as I go visit my mom and care for her.
