El Paso, Texas

      From August 9 until August 13, 2010, a Spanish Intensive Class will be offered in El Paso, Texas. The classes will be held morning, afternoon, and evening so you will need to arrive on Sunday and depart on Saturday. An additional “Jump Start” experience is available to those who arrive on Saturday August 7, 2010 by 3:00p.

      The goal of the class is to prepare students to begin to participate in Hispanic ministry in their home area and to understand the lives and backgrounds of their Hispanic neighbors.

     The language instruction will be provided by Language Plus, a language institute located in El Paso. The teachers at this institute value practice over theory. The great majority of the class time involves students speaking and honing their skills rather than passively sitting at a desk and learning grammar.

      Part of the learning will take place in the classroom and part will take place out in the El Paso community. Additional instruction will address areas unique to Hispanic culture and methods for engaging people in ministry.

     Finally, a group discount of $20.00 per person is available to those organizations or churches that sponsor 3 or more people to participate in the Spanish Intensive Experience.
